Alan Lee "Big Al" Vogel

Alan Lee “Big Al” Vogel, age 63, of Wilmington, died Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at his home.  He was born April 20, 1954 in Belleville, Illinois the son of Lorraine and Doris Spiechinger Vogel.  He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and had worked as an aircraft mechanic.  Big Al was an avid Bowler, having spent many nights bowling in several leagues at Royal Z Lanes over the years.  He has bowled several perfect 300 games.  Up to the last few years, Big Al also enjoyed fishing.  He is survived by his daughter, Lisa (Michael) Miller of New Vienna; father Lorraine Vogel of Illinois; grandchildren, Kayla Dunning, Bentley Miller, and Gannon Miller; great granddaughter Milli`ann Pickens; special friend “Foxy”; and best friend Sug Sheley.  He is preceded in death by his mother Doris Vogel.  Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at Brown Funeral Home, Wilmington.  Visitation will be held Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.  Committal services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.  For more information or to leave an on-line condolence, please visit www.arehart-brown.com, or see our Facebook page Brown Funeral Home.
