Matthew Floyd Obituary

Matthew Jay Floyd, 43, of Mainville, Ohio passed away Friday, August 3, 2018 at Bethesda North Hospital with his loving family by his side. Matt was born February 25, 1975 the son of Phil and Linda (McFadden) Floyd. He is survived by his wife Tonya, three sons Spencer, Carter, and Ryder, and the added blessing of his step children, Ethan, Gabby, and Carson. He loved them all with all his heart. Matt is also survived by his parents, Phil and Linda Floyd, and brother Andy. A graduate of Wilmington High School, he attended Bowling Green State University, then transferred to Full Sail University in Orlando, Florida to Study Music Production, receiving his Degree in Recording Arts and Music Production. Matt always loved music and was involved in High School and church choir. He also participated in many school and community theatre productions at Wilmington College. He and three of his best friends formed an a cappella group performing throughout the region. Matt’s proudest career accomplishment was the years he spent as Chief Engineer for Elfin Music/Sarasota Soundworks in Sarasota Florida. Matt produced, recorded and mastered multiple CD’s for Ed Van Fleet and several other artists. While in Sarasota, he developed his love for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He followed them closely even after moving back to Ohio. In the last few years Matt found a real passion and calling working for Talbert House in Lebanon counseling those in transition from Lebanon Prison. His family gave him so much pleasure, especially watching the boys play baseball and soccer. Matt is gone far too soon but will forever be loved and remembered as a giving and caring person who always wanted to make people happy. Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Brown Funeral Home is assisting the family.
