Michael Eugene Cooper, age 54, of Hillsboro, passed away peacefully at his home at 7:11 p.m. Friday, September 7, 2018 surrounded by his wife Kelly, two sons Aaron and Casey, and with his faithful K-9 friend Lexi by his side. He was born June 28, 1964 in Ft. Knox, Kentucky, the son of James and Ann (McGlone) Cooper. Mike lived the only way he knew how, with an open heart and open arms. He made new friends everywhere he went. Mike loved being outdoors hunting and fishing and enjoying the wildlife nature had to offer. Anyone who knew Mike would say he lived in the moment and didn’t worry much about life. As long as he had his family and friends by his side, he was happy. Mike loved animals and had three dogs, Lexi, Lucy, and Bailee. Lexi was his shadow and was with him until the end. She was an ever-faithful companion. Mike is survived by his wife, Kelly Fox Cooper; sons Aaron Cooper and Casey Cooper; grandson Vito Cooper; mother Ann Winters; step-mother Ardith Cooper; and brothers Rex Fent and David Cooper. Mike is preceded in death by his father James Cooper; and step-father Jerry Fent. Mike’s wishes were for there to be no services, but to get youth involved in hunting and fishing. The family asks that memorial donations in Mike’s memory be made to https://impact.castforkids.org/MichaelCooper; or to the team of hospice nurses who took such wonderful care of him, Community Care Hospice of Clinton County www.communitycarehospice.com/donate/.
