Albert Lee Doyle, age 83, of Wilmington, passed away peacefully and went home to be with Jesus Friday, May 20, 2022. He was in the Dayton Veterans Administration Hospice Unit. Albert was born October 31, 1938, in Nicholasville, Kentucky, the son of the late James and Martha (Tudor) Doyle. Albert was a Veteran of the United States Army, serving during the close of the Korean War. He enjoyed socializing, and never met a stranger. He enjoyed hanging out with friends at McDonald's and Frisch’s. He had driven a truck out of Melvin Stone Quarry for more than 40 years, and was blessed that he had never had an accident. All of those years driving he was active on the C.B. Radio under the handle of “Family Man”. Albert had also driven for the City of Wilmington Transportation for 17 years. He is survived by his children, Sonya Goldie of Wilmington, Jeff (Diana) Michael of Sabina, Tamara Collett of Wilmington, Regina “Geannie” (Tom) South of Wilmington, and Melissa (Eric) Deer of Wilmington; grandchildren, Natosha (Bill) Hall, Erica Goldie, Brendyn (Felicia) South, Devon Lansing, Isaac Collett, Skylar (Kris) Maynard, Elisha Collett, Seth Goldie, Baylee Deer, Dylan Michael, Sydney Michael, and Shelby Michael; great grandchildren, Haylee Lansing, Zayne Maynard, Kaelin Morrison, Cynthia Maynard, Brintley Rayson, Abby Maynard, Titus Howard, Preslee Ellis, Nevaeh Lansing, Journi Penick, Jazz Goldie, Noah Lansing, and Grayson Hall; siblings, Ralph (Judy) Doyle of Wilmington, Elizabeth “Libby” (Joe) Rea of Wilmington, and Brenda Hartley of Blanchester; several nieces and nephews; along with many friends. Along with his parents, Albert is preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Kaye (Bean) Doyle on June 26, 2021; son-in-law Robert Collett; sister Marie Wilder; and brothers, Jesse Doyle, Elvin Doyle, Richard Gilbert Doyle, and Calvin Doyle. Funeral services will be held 12:30 p.m. Friday, May 27, 2022 at the Wilmington Church of Christ. Albert’s grandson Brendyn South will officiate. Burial with Military Honors accorded by the American Legion Post #49 Honor Guard will follow in the New Antioch Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 12:30 p.m. at the church.
