Arthur Edwin "Jack" Greene

Arthur Edwin “Jack” Greene, age 83, of Wilmington, passed away Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at his home with his family by his side.  He was born September 7, 1937, in Xenia, Ohio the son of the late Elmer E. and Christine (Spiegel) Greene.  Jack was an over-the-road truck driver his entire working life.  It was a job he loved.   He was the perfect example of a truck driver should be, in both action and dress. He enjoyed gambling of all sorts, and playing the lottery.  Jack is survived by his wife Virginia Bell “Jenny” (Ross) Greene, to whom he married August 12, 1959 in College Park, Maryland; children, Dale Greene, Raymey Greene, Penny (James) Storer, and Roy (Wendy) Greene; grandchildren, Josh Greene, Jeffery Storer, Jay Storer, Zach Greene, Luke Greene, Wes Greene, Jessie Greene, Michael Greene, Heather Hamm, Lisa Greene, Darin Greene Jr., Veronica Greene, Kehly Greene, Linna Greene, Kelli Greene, Jason Matthew Greene Jr., and Dillon Ewing; several great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, Jack is preceded in death by three sons, Arthur Edwin “Jackie” Greene Jr., Darin Lee Greene, and Jason Matthew Greene; grandchildren, Eric Greene, Wendy Brewer, and Dakota Mitchell; great granddaughter Arianna Brewer; and siblings, Mildred, Jim, Bob, Margie, Barbara, Diane, Rick, Elmer Jr., and Gary.  Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 4, 2021 at Brown Funeral Home, Wilmington.  Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.  Interment will take place privately at the convenience of the family.  To leave an on-line condolence, or make a donation to the family, please visit www.arehart-brown.com,  you can also leave condolences to the family at our Facebook page, Brown Funeral Home.
