Barbara Ellen (Lunsford) Wright

Barbara Ellen (Lunsford) Wright, age 80, of Wilmington, passed away August 30, 2024, at Wilmington Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Wilmington, surrounded by her loving family. She was born March 1, 1944, in Wilmington, Ohio, the daughter of the late William Lester Lunsford and Lou Ella (Adams) Lunsford of Kentucky. She enjoyed going to yard sales and sitting at the kitchen table drinking coffee while watching her grandchildren. She was a big family person. Barbara was a cherished mother, grandmother, and friend. She was known for her kind heart, unwavering strength, and dedication to her family. Her warm smile and generous spirit touched the lives of everyone who knew her. Barbara will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for her love, compassion, and the many lives she touched. She is survived by her children, Pamela (Lunsford) Adams of Wilmington, Cecil H. McCoy of Florida, Debra (McCoy) Zurface of Wilmington, and James Wright of Wilmington; grandchildren, Clint Adams of Xenia, Jared Zurface of Wilmington, Brad Adams of Wilmington, Ashley (Elvis) Chapman of Wilmington, Schoen Wright of Wilmington, and Chad Zurface of Wilmington; great-grandchildren, Hannah and Chayanne Adams, Peyton and Paige Allgood, Paris Chapman, Aiden Adams, Aliyah Woods, and Owen Wright. In addition to her parents, Barbara is preceded in death by her husband, Nolan W. Wright, Sr., great-grandson Tyler James Wright, and all of her brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be held 12:00 noon, Monday September 9, 2024 at Brown Funeral Home, Wilmington. Interment will immediately follow in New Antioch Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until services begin at 12:00 noon at the funeral home on Monday. Brown Funeral Home, Wilmington, is assisting the family.
