Birute Schaeffing

Birute Schaeffing (Gineikaité), age 38, of Wilmington, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, February 24, 2024 at Clinton Memorial Hospital in Wilmington. She was born December 16, 1985 in Lithuania, the daughter of Raimundas Gineika and Nijole Gineikiené ( Sabaliauskaité). Birute enjoyed everything about life and those she shared it with. She loved cooking, baking, knitting, and spending time outdoors. Whether it was walking, riding bikes, kayaking or just taking rides and eating out...she enjoyed the simple things in life. Birute adored her four-legged kids, Anni, Lexxi, Holli, Snickers, Lilli and Sterling, as well as her work family and job at Dealertrack in Wilmington. She had also been a volunteer at the animal shelter. Above all, she loved her family and husband very much. Birute is survived by her loving husband, Seth Schaeffing, to whom she married May 4, 2019; her mother, Nijole Gineikiené and stepfather Darinel Velazquez; father, Raimundas Gineika; siblings, Selena and Ricardo Velazquez; In-laws, Bob and Linda Schaeffing; and numerous other family members who loved her very much. She is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Adelé Sabaliauskiené and Kostas Sabaliauskas; and paternal grandfather, Stanislavas Gineika. Funeral services will be held 6:30 p.m. Friday, March 8, 2024 at Brown Funeral Home, Wilmington. Pastor Josh Dixon of Bible Baptist Church Wilmington, will officiate. Visitation will be held on Friday from 4:00 p.m. until time of service at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Brown Funeral Home, Wilmington, is assisting the family.
