Carole Elizabeth Parks, 83, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 4, 2025. A strong-willed and take-charge woman, Carole embraced a life filled with livestock, gardening, and raising her family.
Born to C. Garfield and Betty Elizabeth Mitchell of Oakwood, Ohio, Carole's love of horses and equestrian events was nurtured by her parents who proceeded her in death.
Carole met the love of her life, Estil G. Parks, at her father’s insistence to meet “the boy with the hot-rod race car” working at the filling station. From that fateful encounter blossomed a love story that spanned 65 years of marriage, filled with devotion and adventure. Together, they raised three children: Charles B. (Kym), Robert G. (Marla), and Pamela E. (Wayne Kibler).
Carole was deeply involved in her family’s life, spending countless hours in the barn with her children and grandchildren preparing for the Warren and Clinton County Fairs. She eagerly traveled to support them at jackpots and national livestock shows, often regaling friends and family with stories full of practical jokes and the joyful antics that made each fair unforgettable. Her love of livestock and her knack for a good prank have been passed down through generations, ensuring her legacy lives on in family stories for years to come.
Carole will be profoundly missed by her husband, Estil; her children; and her grandchildren: Thomas, Terry Joel (Cassandra Lueking), Cassandra, Samantha, Katlynn, Addison, and Kourtney Parks; Lindsay and Chelsea Shell; Cheyenne Crowe and Austin Kibler. She also leaves behind two great-granddaughters, Avery Parks and Isabella Crowe.
Carole’s impact on her family is immeasurable, and she will forever hold a place in the hearts of not only her family but also the countless "Fair Kids" who held a special place in her heart.
At the request of the family there will be a memorial service hosted for Carole in the spring on her beloved farm.
