Carolyn Cain Obituary

Carolyn Lee Cain, age 78, of Clarksville, passed away Sunday, May 10, 2020 at her home after her battle with cancer.  She was born December 24, 1941 in Kingman, Ohio the daughter of the late Charles Russell and Minnie Elizabeth (Jacobs) Ellis.  She was a member of Bethany Baptist Church in Clarksville.  Carolyn was very loving, and an inspiration to her family.  She would do anything, for anybody, at any time.  Carolyn enjoyed her flower garden, and loved raccoons.  She adored the times of sitting in the yard swing, under the Pecan tree with her husband Gene.  Penn Station was a favorite for she and Gene.  But most of all, Carolyn loved her family and spending time with them, to quote her husband, “She was the best”.  Carolyn is survived by her husband Norman Eugene “Gene” Cain, to whom she married  August 8, 1959; children Russell “Rusty” (Cindy) Cain of Waynesville and Michele “Mike” Cain of Wilmington; grandchildren, Moriah (Craig) Gross, Alana Cain, Brett Cain, Shawna (Ted) Sulikowski, Amber Hollingsworth, Chloe Hemingway, Brittany (Matt Cremeans) Hollingsworth, Levi Hollingsworth, Nevarre Mulderink, Jeremy (Nikki) Jackson, Aimee Saunders, and Scarlett (Paul) Wolfinbarger; sixteen great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; and was very close to her in-laws.  In addition to her parents, Carolyn is preceded in death by her father and mother-in-law, Arthur and Ruth Cain; brother Floyd Ellis; and sister-in-law Barbara Tucker.  A memorial service will be held 4:00 p.m. Monday, May 18, 2020 at Bethany Baptist Church.  Pastor Tim Bradshaw will officiate.  Visitation will be held Monday from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service at 4:00 p.m. at the church.  Brown Funeral Home, Wilmington is serving the family.  For more information, or to sign our on-line register, please visit www.arehart-brown.com or see our Facebook page, Brown Funeral Home.
