Charlotte Ann Burton-Helton, age 72, of Wilmington, passed away Monday, July 8, 2024, at the Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Ohio. She was born June 29, 1952, in Ashland, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Jay and Mary Alice (Lewis) Burton. Charlotte was very proud of being a bus driver for the Blanchester School District for 23 years. She loved and enjoyed her family, and had a special love for dogs, especially her dog “Sug”. Charlotte is survived by her husband Jerry Lee Helton; daughter Julie Marie (Donnie) Jefferson of Lebanon; son Dusty (Anna) Burton of Wilmington; 10 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren; brothers Don Burton of Oregon, and Jack Burton of Fairfax, Ohio; sister-in-law Pam (Paul) Armacost of Blanchester; care giver and long-time friend Tana Hayslip of Wilmington; and many friends. In addition to her parents, Charlotte is preceded in death by one daughter, Sandy Gentry in 2017; son Jason Lee Helton in 2007; and brother-in-law Larry “Frog” Helton. Funeral services will be held 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at Brown Funeral Home, Wilmington. Brother Wayne Halcomb will officiate. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. until the time of service at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial in Edwards Cemetery, Harlon Township, will take place privately at the convenience of the family.
