Colleen F. Stone, of Martinsville, age 64, of Martinsville, passed away Sunday, April 21, 2024, at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center in Cincinnati, Ohio. She was born May 7, 1959, the daughter of the late Lloyd Cleatis and Hazel (Medley) Stone. Colleen was born deaf and mute, she graduated from the Dayton School for the Deaf. She was a free-spirit, and even though deaf, she could feel the vibrations of music and loved to dance. She was very “crafty,” loved butterflies, and loved to feel the rain on her face. Colleen is the mother of 4 children, Brandi (Darrell), Brett, Tonya (Chad), and Shella (Angie). She is also survived by seven grandchildren; siblings, Gary, Kenny, Dorothy, and Shirley; sister-in-law Bobbi Williams; significant other and long-time boyfriend Phil; father of Tonya and Shella, Denzel Williams, Jr.; several nieces and nephews, including Amber, Brittany, and Danielle; special friends, Rhonda, Brittany, and Melissa; and many friends, including all her friends within the deaf community in Dayton. In addition to her parents, Colleen is preceded in death by two brothers, Ronnie Stone, and Larry Stone. A Celebration of Colleen’s Life is being planned for a later date. Visitation will be held Sunday, May 5, 2024, from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. with the reading of the obituary and comments at 4:00 p.m.at Brown Funeral Home, Wilmington.
