Darren Keith McGrew

Darren Keith McGrew, age 27, of Carthage, Illinois, formerly of New Vienna, passed away February 6, 2022 in Illinois.  He was born March 23, 1994 in Tuscan, Arizona the son of Brandi Dawn Powell and Daniel K. McGrew.   Darren spent his early education years in the New Vienna Elementary.  He was a free spirit who loved music festivals, Poi Spinning and yo-yo-ing, and skateboarding.  Darren was known for wearing “Bucket Hats”.  He survived by his parents, Brandi (Jared Glasgow) Powell of New Vienna, and Daniel McGrew of California; son Wesley Delane Alexander McGrew of Hillsboro; sisters, Maddalyn (Kyle Mullins) Loury of Washington C.H., and Samantha Loury of New Vienna; Grammi Linda Sue Meyer; aunt Staci (Travis) Rose of Wilmington; cousins, Colton Young, Cameron Young, and D.J. Freeze; and many friends.  He is preceded in death by his Poppa Michael Meyer; and Gramz Beatrice Elizabeth McVey.  Memorial services will be held 6:00 p.m. Thursday, February 24, 2022 at Brown Funeral Home, Wilmington.  Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m.  To leave an on-line condolence, please visit www.arehart-brown.com, or see our Facebook page, Brown Funeral Home.
