David Michael "Mike" Thompson

David Michael “Mike” Thompson, age 62, of Wilmington, passed away Thursday, April 20, 2023, at his home with family by his side.  He was born October 25, 1960, in Chillicothe, Ohio the son of the late Bernard and Wilma (Ferguson) Thompson.  Mike was a veteran of the United States Army.  He owned and operated D.M. Thompson Chimney Repair for more than 47 years, had coached youth baseball, and was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan.  Mike was known to enjoy an ice-cold Miller Lite, and was the “King” of Keno.  Mike is survived by his companion Candy Goulding; son David (Marie) Thompson; brothers, Russell, Bernie, and Forrest Thompson; Candy’s children, Lora (Hollie) Justice, Destiny (Matt) Marrs, Frank (Amy) Justice, Trevor Justice, and Justin Justice; several grandchildren and great grandchildren, including Kenny Marrs, Rocky (Verna) Ellis, Troy Thompson, and Lauren Thompson.  In addition to his parents, Mike is preceded in death by two sisters, Denise Thompson and Debra Reed.  All services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.  Brown Funeral Home, Wilmington, is assisting the family.  To leave an on-line condolence, please visit www.arehart-brown.com, or see our Facebook page, Brown Funeral Home.
