Debra Lynn (Phillips) Hayslip

Debra Lynn (Phillips) Hayslip, age 70, of Wilmington, passed away Monday June 19, 2023 at Clinton Memorial Hospital in Wilmington. She was born September 9, 1952 in Wilmington, the daughter of Reuben and Ruby (Green) Phillips who preceded her in death. For Debra, "family time" was the "best time". She loved her family very much and was especially close to her nieces and nephews. Debra loved going on road trips and long vacations. She also enjoyed playing cards, collecting earrings and often spoke of her favorite food... her mother's meatloaf. She also adored spending time and talking with friends at the Quaker Apartments on Prarie Avenue, where she resided for many years. Debra was a very independent and prideful woman who overcame many obstacles in life. She was always there to help her family and she was very much admired by all of them. She is survived by her sister, Patricia (Walter) Lambcke of Wilmington; nephew, John Lambcke of Naples, Florida; niece, Shelley (Chris) Arnold of Wilmington; nephew, Ted (Kristie) Moore of Palm Harbor, Florida; four great-nieces, Rachel and Bailey Arnold, and Nelinka and Elishka Lambcke; and many friends including very special friend, Patty Lambcke. In addition to her parents she is preceded by her husband, Jack Hayslip. A Celebration of Life service will be held for Debra sometime in July. Brown Funeral Home, Wilmington, is assisting the family and will update the public when a time and place for the service is determined.
