Donald E. (Doc) Fricke, age 94, 0f Clarksville, formerly of Spring Valley, passed away Monday June 6, 2020 at Ohio Living Cape May in Wilmington, Ohio. Donald was born October 28, 1925 to Arnold A and Eleanor (Goldmeyer) Fricke, he was raised in Oakwood, Ohio and graduated from Oakwood High School. Donald served two years in the United States Air Force and was privileged to take part in the 2017 Honor Flight to Washington D.C. Upon returning from the military, Donald enrolled at the University of Dayton where he received his Bachelor’s Degree, and then the Ohio State University where he received his Doctorate in Dentistry. He practiced dentistry in Kettering and Spring Valley for nearly 50 years. Donald’s passion was raising and training Arabian Horses on his farm in Spring Valley. He was well known for his superior Arabian bloodlines, and he raised and owned a World Champion Arabian Horse. Donald helped numerous people in the horse industry, and he especially loved helping youth with their horse projects. Donald also enjoyed flying, he had his own airstrip and flew into his late seventies. In addition to his parents, Donald is preceded in death by three brothers, James, Howard, and Robert Fricke; and two sons, Scott and Douglas Fricke. Donald is survived by eleven nieces and nephews; and numerous great nieces and nephews. He is fondly remembered by them as “Uncle Don”. He also leaves behind two dear lifelong friends, Mary Tisher and Barbara Piekutowski. A Remembrance Service for Donald is planned for a later date.
