Elijah "E.J." Howard

Elijah “E.J.” Howard, age 64, of Hillsboro, passed away Saturday, February 5, 2022 at the Bethesda North Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was born May 13, 1957 in Dayton, Ohio the son of Dexter and Laura (Gross) Howard.  E.J. loved the peacefulness of the outdoors, especially spending time in the woods.  He volunteered as a youth basketball coach, coaching his two boys and many of their friends.  He loved his family, everything in his life revolved around them.  E.J. is survived by his wife of nearly 25 years, Heather L. (Linville) Howard; sons, Elijah V. Howard and Jake Howard; mother Laura Howard of Xenia; siblings, David Howard of Xenia, Chester (Cheryl) Howard of Xenia, and Barbara Stepp of Wilmington; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins; and dogs, “Biscuit” and “Ellie”.  E.J. is preceded in death by his father Dexter Howard; sister Linda Kay Howard; infant brother Lindburg; and dog “Zipper”.   Funeral services will be held 12:00 p.m. Friday, February 11, 2022 at Brown Funeral Home, Wilmington.  The Howard family is asking that friends and family share memories of E.J. during the service.  Burial will follow in the Silver Creek Township Cemetery, Jamestown.  Visitation will be held Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home.  To leave an on-line condolence, please visit www.arehart-brown.com
