Ellen Louise (Browning) Osborne

Ellen Louise (Browning) Osborne, age 75, of Wilmington, passed away Saturday, January 4, 2025, at the Wilmington Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.  She was born February 21, 1949 in Orange County, Florida, the daughter of the late Charles and Mary (Allen) Browning.  Ellen was a retiree of the Randall (Kautex Textron) Company in Wilmington.  She loved having her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren around her.  Every year she planned and urged all family to get together for the Osborne Family Reunion.  Ellen enjoyed reading, and could be found reading a good book, while enjoying a Pepsi and a cigarette.  Ellen is survived by five daughters, Mary (Gary) Duggins, Tina Conley, Melissa Smith, Penny (Roche) Raterman, and Judy (Wilson) Frazier; three sons, Wayne Browning, Jerry (Sandy) Osborne, and Ronald Osborne; two sisters, Beatrice Shields, and Freda Moore; two brothers, Chuck (Connie) Browning and David Browning; 20 grandchildren, including a very special granddaughter Victoria Wolfe who was her Mammaw’s copy; 45 great grandchildren; and 7 great great grandchildren who will all miss her terribly.  In addition to her parents, Ellen is preceded in death by her lifelong companion, best friend, and love of her life, Joseph Osborne; two sons, Joseph Osborne II and Jack Osborne; two sisters Betty Brown and Barbara Mullett; and Brother Bill Howard.  Immediate services and interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family.  A Celebration of Ellen’s Life will be announced for all to attend at a later date.  Brown Funeral Home, Wilmington, is assisting the family.  To leave an on-line condolence, please visit www.arehart-brow.com, or see our Facebook page, Brown Funeral Home.
