Francis M. Michael

Francis Marion Michael, age 89, of Leesburg, passed away peacefully Sunday, October 15, 2023, at his home with family by his side.  He was born April 21, 1934, in Highland County, Ohio, the son of the late   Meredith and Dorothy (Deck) Michael.  Francis was an avid outdoorsman, especially enjoying hunting and fishing.  He worked in printing all of his professional life, spending 25 years with the Journal Herald Newspaper in Dayton.  More than anything, Francis loved his wife and family.  He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Mary Joanne (Achor) Michael, to who he married October 4, 1953 at the New Vienna Church of Christ; children, Kimberly Michael of Pleasant Plain, Ohio, Timothy Michael of Leesburg, and Kirk Michael of Fairborn; grandchildren, Mary (Jason) Knize of Florida, Jennifer (Brandon) Getz of Lebanon, Rebecca Michael of Mariemont, Kelly Michael of Beavercreek,   and Andrew Michael of Fairborn; two great grandchildren,  Eric Kuhlman and William Getz; sister-in-law Judy Achor of New Vienna; and brother-in-law Don Achor of New Vienna.  Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at the New Vienna Church of Christ.  Brad Clouse will officiate.  Burial will follow in the New Vienna Cemetery.  Visitation will be held at the church on Wednesday from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m.  The family asks that memorial donations be made to any church, or the charity of the donor’s choice.  Brown Funeral Home, Wilmington, is assisting the family.  To leave an on-line condolence, please visit www.arehart-brown.com, or see our Facebook page, Brown Funeral Home.
