George Tilton II, age 65, of Wilmington, passed away on Sunday, February 7, 2021 peacefully in his sleep at home.
He was born on March 10, 1955, in Columbus, Ohio. He was the son of late Don R. and Barbara Tilton.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Brenda Tilton, one daughter, Lynne Green, two sons, George Tilton III and Douglas Tilton, one grandchild, Rhyann Green, two sisters, Ann Compton and Mary DeFrank, two brothers, Doug Tilton and John Tilton, and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
George was a member of the Wilmington United Methodist Church, and had worked as a Component Analyst with Airborne Express. He was also a musician, known for his love of blues and jazz music. He played the harmonica and provided vocals for several bands over the course of his life.
George was a loving husband, caring father, and a devoted friend to everyone. He was an amazing man with a wonderful sense of humor who touched the lives of many that will miss his presence greatly.
Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Saturday, February 13, 2021 at Brown Funeral Home in Wilmington. Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service at 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Immediately following services, all are welcome to join the family at Snow Hill Country Club to share food, refreshment, stories, and fellowship.
