Gloria Ann (Fields) Grooms

Gloria Ann Grooms, age 59, of Wilmington, died Sunday, May 30, 2021 in Wilmington.  She was born December 3, 1961 in Xenia, the daughter of Bill and Ola Mae (Trubee) Fields.  She was a member of the Macedonia Primitive Baptist Church in Wilmington.  She enjoyed collecting Angel, and Native American Figurines.  Gloria volunteered, then became an employee, at the local homeless shelter. As a tribute of her love, and in memory of her daughter Jessica who passed away, Gloria gathered plastic grocery bags, then crocheted them into a sleeping mattress for the local shelter.  She loved her family dearly, especially her granddaughters, and great  grandchildren.  She is survived by her daughter Brandy (Mike) Blair   of Wilmington; sons Joey Funk and James Funk, both of Wilmington; grandchildren, Chanda, Kaylie, Brianna, Myka, Josie, Leddie, Ray, and Aiden; five great grandchildren, sister, Anita Santos of Findlay, Ohio; brother Terry Fields of Wilmington; and many friends.  She is preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Ola Mae Fields; daughter Jessica Conner; and grandson Emmanuel Cota.  Funeral services will be held 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at Brown Funeral Home, Wilmington.  Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until the time of service at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.  To leave an on-line condolence, please visit www.arehart-brown.com, or see our Facebook page, Brown Funeral Home.
