Hans Robert Mueller, age 88, of Wilmington, passed away peacefully, Friday morning, November 12, with his loving wife Barbara, and sister Anita, by his side. He was born November 14, 1933, in Meredith, New York, the son of the late Hans Carl and Emmy Henrietta (Berkhan) Mueller. Hans attended the Leescreek United Church of Christ. He was born and raised on a dairy farm in Upstate New York, before attending college and obtaining a master’s degree in aero engineering. He worked for several airlines before relocating to Wilmington in 1995 where he worked at Airborne Express before retiring in 1998. He, along with his wife Barbara, loved cats and had volunteered at the Wilmington Area Humane Society when located on State Route 68. At home, they enjoyed nine cats, and throughout their lives rescued many. Hans is survived by his wife, Barbara M. (Umbach) Mueller; sister Anita Louise Mueller; and several cousins. Rev. Craig Showalter will offer prayers at 1:00 pm with visitation to follow until 3:00 pm, Sunday, November 14, 2021 at Brown Funeral Home, Wilmington.
