Hazel Marie Hoffer, age 86, of Wilmington, passed away peacefully Friday, April 22, 2022 at the Clinton Memorial Hospital in Wilmington. She was born April 20, 1936 in Wilmington, the daughter of the late Leo and Floe (Camp) Thompson. Hazel was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was an avid follower of her family in sports. She rarely missed a game, and has followed family in every school in the county. Hazel was a fan of the U.C. Bearcats, Ohio State Buckeyes, and Nascar driver Jimmy Johnson. She also enjoyed traveling to different Casinos. Hazel is survived by children, Peggy (George) Cole of Waco, Kentucky, Andy Hoffer of Wilmington, Bill (Sandi) Hoffer of Wilmington, Becky (Paul) Harris of Wilmington, Kathy Cioca of Wilmington, and Lori Hoffer Hodge of Wilmington; daughter-in-law Stephanie Hoffer of Wilmington; grandchildren, Heather Cole, Adam Cole, Jerod Turner, Jason Hoffer, Kaleb (Justin) Martin, Christopher Hoffer, Casey Hoffer, Cory (Sam) Hoffer, Lucas (Kirstin) Harris, Karli (Tristin) Pennington, Sarah Cioca, Joshua Cioca, Jeffrey Hodge, Hali Hodge, and Dani Hodge; several great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Hazel is preceded in death by her husband, Carl Hoffer; son Jeff Hoffer; great grandson Charlie Frederick; and six siblings, she was the last of the siblings. Funeral services will be held 4:00 p.m. Thursday, April 28, 2022 at Brown Funeral Home. Ray Cooper will officiate. Burial will take place privately at Clinton Memory Gardens, Wilmington. Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service at 4:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
