Ivan Roy Castle, age 57, ended his two-year battle with pancreatic cancer on November 25th, 2019 and went to be with the Lord. He was surrounded by family and will be deeply missed by his wife, Sue Castle, who stayed right by his side, fighting the battle with him every step of the way.
Ivan grew up in East Jordan, Michigan, and was a devout Go Blues fan and avid Tigers, Lions, Redwings, and Pistons sports fanatic.
He enjoyed bowling, fishing, golfing, and being surrounded by family and friends. He always made people feel welcomed and enjoyed laughing at others and himself.
He is survived by his wife Sue Castle and children Felisha and Matt Vermillion, Corey Castle, Devan Honeysette, Destiny Honeysette, and fiancé Matt.
He was the second born of five siblings ranging from the oldest Archie Jr. Castle (wife Susan), Robert Castle (wife Jackie), Will Castle, and Joanne Vermillion (husband Dave), and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Archie Sr. and Margaret (Fran) Castle.
Ivan was loved by many and will be greatly missed by his friends and family.
Funeral services will be held at the Brown Funeral Home, on Friday, November 29, 2019, at 11:00 am. Visitation will start at 10:00 am. Afterward, attendees are welcome to join the family for a catered lunch at American Legion where Ivan and Sue’s employer, Ahresty has graciously provided. Flowers and/or donations can be sent to the Brown Funeral Home.
