Jared William Macik

Jared William Macik, age 28, of Wilmington, passed away Monday, March 24, 2025. He was born March 19, 1997, in Dayton, Ohio, the son of William Thomas Macik and Heather Michelle Shuttleworth (Cook). A former Captain with the Chester Township Fire Department, Jared was known to be a young "jack of all trades", helping family and friends with anything they needed. He loved being outside doing yard work and admired Harley-Davidson motorcycles. Jared had trained and was certified in the environmental and hazardous waste profession. He was a loving father, brother and son. Jared leaves behind his three sons, Jasper, Jaxton and Jensen Macik; his parents, Bill (Kathy) Macik and Heather (Tom) Shuttleworth of Wilmington; siblings, Jacob (Alexis) Macik, Jordan (Taylor Moore) Macik, and Liv (Simon Thornburg) Macik of Wilmington; grandparents, Joe (Hazel) Macik of Jamestown and Rick (Joan Turner) Cook of Jamestown; Aunts and Uncles, Jeff (Joni) Macik of Rockledge, Florida, Susan (Mark) Susor of Alpharetta, Georgia and Carey Cook of Martinsville; nieces, Kynnedy, Kynnsley, Kyerann and Kyegann; numerous other extended family members and friends. Jared is preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Vickie Cook and a stepbrother, Matthew Shuttleworth. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday March 31, 2025, at the Wilmington Church of Christ. Pastor Michael Helling will officiate. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 1:00 p.m. at the church. Burial will take place immediately following services at New Silver Creek Cemetery in Jamestown, Ohio.
