Joyce Ann (Rich) Steele

Joyce Ann Steele, of Wilmington. Passed away Thursday, November 12, 2020 at Clinton Memorial after a long hard-fought battle.  Joyce was born June 24, 1941 in Harveysburg, Ohio the daughter of the late Otis and Edith (DeBoard) Rich.  She is preceded in death by her husband James Steele, they were married December 21, 1957 and cherished every second of their inspirational journey.  They were an inspiration to all who got to experience their love story.  Joyce was the mother to six children, James (Jennifer) Steele, Michael (Patti) Steele, Vanessa (John) Zugg, Mark Steele, Kimberly (Rick) Thomas, and Monica (Joe) Miller.  Joyce was also the loving grandmother of 16 grandkids, and 23 great grandkids.  She was one of five children, having two brothers and two sisters.  She is preceded in death by one of those siblings, Timothy Wayne, and survived by brother John (Anna) Rich, Christina Steele, and Diana Smith.  Joyce was a devoted wife, sister, mother, and grandmother.  She loved cooking, playing word games, listening to the word, and watching her Hallmark Christmas movies from May to December.  She loved to sing Gospel music with her siblings, and most of all she loved spending time with family and her adoring grandchildren.  Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 16, 2020 at Faith Building Church, 875 Covenant Way, Lebanon, Ohio 45036.  Burial will follow in the Springfield Friends Cemetery on Todd’s Fork Road near Clarksville.  Visitation will be held from 12:30 p.m. until the time of service at 2:00 p.m. at the church.  Brown Funeral Home, Wilmington, is assisting the family.  For more information, go to sign our on-line register, please visit www.arehart-brown.com or see our Facebook page, Brown Funeral Home.
