Juanita (Jones) Herrell

Juanita (Jones) Herrell, age 84, of Wilmington, passed away Tuesday, July 11, 2023. She was born January 5, 1939 in Deer Lodge, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Henry and Mary Alice (Hodge) Jones. Juanita very much enjoyed sitting on her porch while listening to Country music and watching over her flowers. She loved her family very much and absolutely adored all babies. She was a friend to everyone she met and was known affectionately as "Grandma" by all that she knew. Juanita had become very close to her "Ohio" family, although she missed her beautiful high-rise home in the mountains of Appalachia. She is survived by a son, Charles (Maria) Butler of Cincinnati; grandchildren, Kenneth (Amber) Wilson of Wilmington, Nicholas (Kelly) Butler of Indiana, Alexis Wright of Cincinnati, Nicole (Chris Gent) Butler of Cincinnati and Joshua Wilson of Wilmington; sisters, Lozena Smith and Joann Ritchie of Kentucky; special friends, Donnie and Connie Greene, Tammy S. Boatright, Shane Perkins and Jackie Barrier; and an abundance of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. Along with her parents, Juanita is preceded in death by her husband Charles W. Herrell; daughter, Nita Kay Roe; brother, Archie Jones; sisters, Evelyn Ryan and Helen Jones; and grandson, Alex Butler. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Monday, July 17, 2023 at Brown Funeral Home in Wilmington. Friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at noon.
