Judith (Judi) Carol Williams Burnell went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 11, 2024. She was born October 29, 1938, in Centerville, IN, the daughter of Paul C. and Alice E. Williams. Judi resided most of her life in Clarksville and Wilmington, Ohio. In recent months, she resided at Embassy of Lebanon, Lebanon, OH.
Judi is survived by two step-daughters, Diana Lynn & son-in-law, Ronny Lakes of Lebanon, OH and Mary Frances Burnell & son-in-law, Paul Martin of Naples, FL ; two grandchildren Rachel (Scott) Woosley of Trenton, OH and Elijah Seyfried of Brooklyn, NY; a sister-in-law, Mary Williams; niece, Amanda Weaver and nephew, Rett Williams, all of Indiana.
She is preceded in death by her parents, both in 2005, and her brother, James A. Williams in 2023.
Although her health was failing in recent years, Judi was a 30+year breast cancer survivor and relied on her Lord and Savior during her battle with cancer. She found comfort in her love for Jesus.
Judi was a former member of the Sligo Baptist Church, Sligo, OH, where she sang solo while playing piano and sang in a trio with her close friends. Prior to her retirement in 2006, her work career included: Wilmington College Conference Services manager (1982-2006); Wilmington College Bookstore clerk (1979-1982); College Management associate (1978-1979); sales clerk at The Oaken Door in Wilmington; sales clerk at Davis Jenkins Jewelers in Indiana; mail subscription clerk at the Dayton Daily News; switchboard operator at the Richmond Phone Company in Indiana. She is a 1956 graduate of Centerville High School, Centerville, IN and attended Earlham College.
At different times throughout her life, Judi enjoyed oil and water-color painting, drawing, sculpting and pottery, writing poetry, calligraphy; quilting, sewing clothes for her family and more recently creating stuffed bears and dolls.
A graveside service at Crown Hill Cemetery, Centerville, IN, will be held at the convenience of the family. Brown Funeral Home, Wilmington, is serving the family.
