Julia "Julie" (Carr) Roberts, age 69, of Wilmington, passed away Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at Ohio Living Cape May in Wilmington, surrounded by her loving family.
Julie was born on October 10, 1956, in Wilmington, to the late Carroll Jenkins "Duke" and Mary Elizabeth (Bahner) Carr. A 1976 graduate of Brown County Ursuline in St. Martin, Ohio, she was a longtime member of the Wilmington Elks Lodge #797 and the Wilmington American Legion Auxiliary. Julie found joy in the simple pleasures of life, from gardening and cooking to playing competitive games of Euchre. She cherished her regular lunch dates with the "Ladies who Lunch" crew, loved spending peaceful time on the family farm, and valued the close friendships she formed during her time in Ave Maria, Florida. Above all, Julie treasured family gatherings, with Christmas always holding a special place in her heart. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Julie Rengers-Byrd of Hartland Michigan, Sarah Meyer of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and CJ Byrd of Louisville Kentucky; her grandchildren Alexis Byrd, Jax Byrd and Zach Meyer; her siblings, Kevi (Ben) Jones of Columbus and Leslie (Craig) Beal of Xenia; a special friend, Danica (Brandon) Hughes of Wilmington; many friends, other special family members, and loved ones. In addition to her parents, Julie is preceded in death by her husband, Neal Roberts and her sisters, Susie B. Carr and Dee (Erv) Elsnic. A "Celebration of Life" gathering will be held at the Wilmington Elks Lodge #797, 2593 Rombach Ave., Wilmington, on Saturday, July 18, 2026 beginning at 2:00 p.m..
