Karen Lynne (King) Reed

Karen Lynne Reed of Wilmington, Ohio died at 9:00 am Tuesday, August 4, 2026, peacefully at home. 

She was born January 16, 1943, in Detroit Michigan, daughter of the late Clarence King and Loretta Morgan King. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 55 years, Edwin “Ben” Reed, Jr.  They were married December 1, 1961. 

She took great pride in her long career as a real estate agent.  She loved helping people find a new home.   Karen possessed an unwavering faith and abiding love for God’s word which she shared with those around her. 

Karen is survived by 3 sons, Todd (Marnie) Reed of Wilmington, Brent (Tammie) Reed of Wilmington, Scott Reed of Oxford, Michigan; a daughter Tiffany (Buck) Hartzell of Alexandria, Virginia; 2 brothers, Larry King of Newport Richey, Florida and Jon King of Higgins Lake, Michigan; and a sister Jan (Claude) Lydick of Lake City, Michigan; 11 grandchildren, Brittany Reed, Alexandria Reed, Ben Reed, Josh Reed, Rachel Reed, Jake Reed, Katie Reed, Erin Reed, Cal Hartzell, Parker Hartzell, and Grant Hartzell. 

Funeral service will be held 12:00 p.m., noon, Friday, August 7, 2026, at Brown Funeral Home, 237 West Main Street, Wilmington, Ohio. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 12:00 p.m.  Burial will follow in Sugar Grove Cemetery, Wilmington.
