Karen K. Watters, age 65, of Wilmington, passed away Thursday morning November 2, 2023, at the Wilmington Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born April 1, 1958, in Dayton, Ohio, the daughter of the late Eugene and Carolyn (Frank) Brush. Karen worked as a cook at various restaurants and enjoyed cleaning various banks, businesses and houses. She was a member of St. Columbkille Catholic Church, where she married her husband Frankie Watters on Apr 5, 1975. She also enjoyed swimming, bowling, Nascar, and being with friends and family. She is survived by her husband, Frankie H. Watters; three daughters, Christina (Carey Soale) Sigmon of Sabina, Jessica (David ) Bellanger of Morrow, and Dorothy (Delwyn Lee) Walker of Hillsboro; four grandchildren, Caylee (James) O’Cull. Jack Williamson, Adalynn Walker and Lukas Walker; three sisters, Theresa (Charlie) Shoemaker of Wilmington, Scherie Brush of Peebles, and Tonya Renner of Wilmington; two step-brothers, Shawn (Mandy) Vanscoy of Sabina and Jamie (Nikki) Frank of Wilmington; several nieces and nephews; and caregiver Ashlee Kier of Wilmington. In addition to her parents, Karen is preceded in death by a sister Angela Baker; best friend John Hughes; uncle Dale Gudorf, grandparents Rosetta and Wilbur Gudorf, and Jeanette Brush; step father James “Jimmy" Frank, and cousin Doug Gudorf. Visitation will be held Monday, November 6, 2023, for 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. All are invited to the Wilmington American Legion Post #49, following the service to continue Celebrate Karen’s life. Memorial donations are directed to the family c/o Brown Funeral Home.
