Kenneth Schaublin, II Obituary

Kenneth E. Schaublin II, age 76, of Wilmington, passed away January 4, 2023, in the care of Hospice of Cincinnati at the Meadowbrook Care Center in Cincinnati. He was born in Bluffton, Ohio on July 31, 1946, the son of the late Kenneth E. and Martha J. Schaublin. Following high school Ken had attended Shippensburg University in Pennsylvania and also served in the United States Army Reserves, in which he took great pride. In his career he used his education as an environmental planner to serve many. From 1992 until 2007 Ken served as executive director of the Clinton County Regional Planning Commission and under his leadership Clinton County adopted comprehensive plans, subdivision regulations, Park plans, farmland preservation plans, and housing studies. In his private life he was a self-described homebody, as most of his time was spent with his loving wife, Cindy. Ken loved to tinker in his yard and had a passion for woodworking and nature. He was a wonderful man, husband, and father. Left to treasure his memory are his wife, Cynthia Schaublin (Jenkins), of Wilmington, to whom he married January 3, 2004; a daughter, Emily (Jared) Shank, of Wilmington; his grandchildren, Eldon, Paxton and Deacon Shank; sister Sueanne Jane (Roger) Eldridge, of Bucyrus; brothers-in-law, Chuck (Becky) Jenkins, Chris (Beth) Jenkins and Porter (Bobbi) Jenkins; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Bradley K. Schaublin, and his father and mother-in-law, Charles H. and Emily L. Jenkins.
