Kreed Thomas Black

Kreed Thomas Black, 5 ½ months, passed away Monday, August 31, 2026, at Children’s Hospital in Dayton, Ohio.  Kreed was born March 9, 2026, in Children’s Hospital, in Cincinnati, the son of Thomas Daryl Black and Taylor Nicole (Watson) McLemore.  Kreed was born with KatB6 Syndrome, a very rare genetic disorder that currently affects fewer than 400 children worldwide.  His 5 ½ months were a true gift to his family, but very difficult for him.  Kreed is survived by his parents Thomas D. Black and Taylor N. McLemore of New Lebanon; siblings, Madison, Hunter, Lillian, Caiden, and Alex; maternal grandparents “Pappy” Mark and “Nanna” Erin Watson of Blanchester; great aunt Karen Hessel of Cincinnati; and second cousin Tina McDonough.  Kreed is preceded in death by his paternal grandmother Tina Sturgeon.  Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 5, 2026, at the Blanchester Church of the Nazarene, 10451 St Rt 28, Blanchester, Ohio 45107.  Pastor Paul Crisp will officiate.  Visitation will be held from 12:30 p.m. until the time of service at 2:00 p.m. at the church Saturday.  The family invites anyone who wishes to gather at Brown Funeral Home, Wilmington, Saturday morning at 11:00 a.m., where a procession will form to escort Kreed to the Church in Blanchester.  To leave an on-line condolence, please visit www.arehart-brown.com, or see our Facebook page, Brown Funeral Home.
