Larry Dean Bacon

Larry D. Bacon, age 85, of Wilmington, passed away peacefully in the morning hours  Saturday, November 25, 2023. He was born May 4, 1938 in Fort Myers, Florida, the son of the late Leon "Dick" A. and Mildred Isabella (Carr) Bacon. Larry was engaged for nearly 60 years in the insurance business and held membership in many organizations including the Wilmington Rotary Club (where he served as President), the Wilmington Jaycees, and the Presbyterian Church of Wilmington. Larry enjoyed working outside and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.  He was married June 1, 1958 in Washington Court House, Ohio, to his loving wife, Carolyn J. (Leeth) Bacon who survives. Larry also leaves behind his two children, Kristin Michelle Bacon and Wade (Jamie) Bacon of Wilmington; four grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren; siblings, Peggy (Jim) Kniesly of Dayton, and Susan Bacon Morgan and Steven (Debbie) Bacon of Orlando, Florida. Larry is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Shawn Bacon. A Celebration of Life service will be held 4:00 p.m. Friday, December 1, 2023 at Brown Funeral Home, Wilmington. Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. until the time of service at 4:00 p.m. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O.
