Lemuel Charles “Charlie” Ewing, age 75, of Wilmington, passed away peacefully Monday, March 8, 2021 at his home with his family by his side. He was born April 4, 1945 in Cranberry West Virginia, the son of the late Lemuel Forrest and Virginia (Johnson) Ewing. Charlie was a proud Veteran of the United States Army. He was a car enthusiast, and loved drag racing and Hot Rods. He regularly attended the Annual Rod Run in Tennessee, and enjoyed driving and showing his red Challenger. Charlie is survived by his wife Kathy Elaine (Black) Ewing, to whom he married January 3, 1983 in Wilmington; children, Darlene Ross of Dayton, Forrest (Tonya) Ewing of Beavercreek, Jason (Brook Simpson) Ewing of Wilmington, Angela DeGarmo of Circleville, and Rebecca (Juan) Delgado of Wilmington; grandchildren, Blaine, Shane, Forrest, Devin, Kathlina, Cecilia, Anika, and Andrew; great granddaughter, Elaina; siblings, Diane Jamison of Port William, Loyd (Lorece) Ewing of Oklahoma, Rick (Pam) Ewing of Sabina, and Suzie (Randy) Ewing-Wolfe of Port William; sisters-in-law Carol Ewing of Wilmington, Linda Ewing of Port William, and Diane Ewing of Port William; several nieces and nephews; and many friends. In addition to his parents, Charlie is preceded in death by one sister, Bonnie Walker; and three brothers, Jennings, Bobby and Jimmy Ewing. Funeral services will be held 12:00 p.m. Saturday, March 13, 2021 at Brown Funeral Home, Wilmington. Burial, with military honors accorded by the American Legion Post #49 Honor Guard, will follow in Clinton Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 12:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Memorial donations are directed to Community Care Hospice, P.O.
