Lisa Kaye Kanzius, age 46, of Wilmington, passed away Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at Bethesda North Hospital, after a courageous battle with COVID-19. She was born April 22, 1975 in Wilmington the daughter of Joseph Martin and Sharon Marie (Simkins) Kanzius III. Lisa was a 1993 Graduate of Wilmington High School. She had worked at ABX until it closed. She then attended Hondros Nursing School in Dayton where she received her Bachelors in Nursing Degree and became a Registered Nurse, and was working at Clinton Memorial Hospital. Lisa is survived by her son, Dalton Cole Brewer of Wilmington; father Joseph Martin “Joe” Kanzius III of Wilmington; sister Cynthia Leone Kanzius of Wilmington; nephew Spencer Christian Skalski of Wilmington; aunt Jolene Kanzius of North Carolina; uncles Walter Lee (Carolyn) Simkins of Monroe, John (Cathy) Williams of Wilmington, and Kenny (Bev) Williams of Lebanon; several cousins; and many friends. Lisa is preceded in death by her mother Sharon Marie Kanzius on October 15, 2018. Lisa’s Family would like to thank all the friends and family that have supported Lisa, and her family during this very difficult battle. The family would also like to recognize Lisa’s co-workers and the entire Clinton Memorial Hospital Family for the love and support they have given. Memorial Services will be held 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at Brown Funeral Home, Wilmington. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
