Mom, sister, aunt, Nonny and wife were a few of the many names Lisa Evans answered to. Lisa was called to heaven at approximately 10am this morning, January 19, 2025. Only 60 years old, Lisa fought a tough battle with Crest syndrome, a rare autoimmune immune disorder that attacks the muscles and tendons in the body and led to a myriad of health conditions including a heart condition. Born Lisa Hobbs on December 21, 1964, in Harlan Kentucky, Lisa was the 10th of 14 children. Preceded in death by her mother Wilma Jean Hively, she is now reunited with her mom and many loved ones including her stepdad, Herbert William Hively, her beloved Mother-in-law, Charlene Evans and siblings: Ernie Hobbs, Catherine Hobbs, Sandie (Hobbs) Middleton, Mitchell Hobbs, Evelyn (Hobbs) Middleton and Don Hobbs. Lisa was a caretaker and spent over 30 years working in private care and nursing and rehabilitation centers caring for others. She took great pride in her work and her greatest times were spent with family. She also loved to shop and had an appreciation for antiques and nicer things but equally appreciated the simpler things like her morning coffee on her back porch and watching her garden grow. Her favorite memory was the day her son, TJ Evans, was born. She said the thing that made her smile most were her three grandchildren: Hunter, Isabella and Arianna Evans. She carried their picture on the front of her phone. Her favorite color was blue, and her favorite book was “Of Mice and Men”. She loved poppies, carrot cake, a good reuben, horses, cats, Christian Slater and most of all her family. She is survived and will be forever missed by her son and daughter-in-law, TJ and Christina Evans, her husband of 40 years, Tony Evans, Grand children: Hunter, Isabella, Arianna Evans and Bonus grandchildren Justin and Josh (McKayla) Wooten. She had a close bond with her siblings especially Oceana Hobbs. She loved them all: Jay Hobbs, Cheryl Hobbs Varney, Frank (Brandy) Laws, Delores Hively, Beverly (Eddie) Haynes, Mark (Patience) Hively along with over 50 nieces and nephews. Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
