Margaret Jewel Burton (Steward), age 89, of Wilmington, passed away December 25, 2022 at Clinton Memorial Hospital. She was born in Spools, Kentucky on September 19, 1933. Margaret was the matriarch of her family and will be missed dearly. She loved to quilt and watch television, as well as going shopping and taking mini roadtrips. Margaret loved watching shows about the paranormal and was an avid Star Wars fan. She loved her family and her pet dogs Angel and Little Man, very much. She read from her Bible nightly. Margaret is survived by her four children, Renae Burton Cox, Sharon Burton, David Burton (Carolyn Cahall) and Christian Burton (Breanna Burke), all of Wilmington; grandchildren Emily Smith of Wilmington, Glenn Arledge (Stephanie Entsminger) of Wilmington, Jessica Saylor of Batavia, Anna Ausman of Florida, Chad Friesenhahn of Texas, Dominique Friesenhahn of Texas and Jackson Drake; great-grandchildren Cheyenne Morgan of Wilmington, Jordan, Brooklyn and Hunter Saylor of Batavia; brother George Harper of Florida and sister Charlotte Penwell of Blanchester; many nieces and nephews; and special daughter, Angel Bowling and special son, Jr Egner. Margaret is preceded in death by her parents, Daniel and Edna Steward; daughters, Kathy Burton and Mary Friesenhahn; son Allen Burton and brother John Steward. Funeral services will be held 12:00 noon on January 3, 2023 at Brown Funeral Home, Wilmington. Friends may visit the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 12:00 noon. Burial will immediately follow services in Mount Olive Cemetery on Mad River Road, New Vienna. Allen Willoughby will officiate. Brown Funeral Home, Wilmington, is assisting the family.
