Marietta S. (Simpson) Buchanan

Marietta S. Buchanan, 85, passed away February 22, 2021. She was born in Dayton, Ohio on January 10, 1936 to the late Frederick and Mary (Grande) Simpson.  

She was the beloved wife of 52 years of Millard Buchanan and they lived together on their horse farm in Wilmington, Ohio. She loved horses from an early age and the two spent much of their marriage racing horses, traveling to horse shows and meetings for the Rocky Mountain Horse Association, and camping near bridle trails. After retirement from General Motors, she enjoyed attending the sporting events and activities of her great-grandchildren, Kenton, Evanne, and Arizona Noggle.  

Along with her husband and great-grandchildren, she is survived by her brother, Fred (Judy) Simpson II, of Wilmington, Ohio; son, Mark (Kathleen) Lange, of Eaton, Ohio; and grandchildren, Adrianne (Justin) Noggle, of Wilmington, Ohio, and Travis, Corey, and Kelly Lange. In addition to her parents, Marietta is preceded in death by a daughter, Christine (Lange) Howell and a brother, Anthony Simpson.  

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:30 a.m. Friday, March 5, 2021 at St. Columbkille Catholic Church in Wilmington.  Father Michael Holloran will be the Celebrant.  Visitation will be held Friday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service at 11:30 a.m. at the church.  Interment will take place privately at the convenience of the family.  Brown Funeral Home, Wilmington is assisting the family.  To leave an on-line condolence, please visit www.arehart-brown.com, or see our Facebook page, Brown Funeral Home.
