After a long illness, Marjorie L. (McGee) Ashmore, formerly of the Clarksville area passed away Friday morning, June 15, 2018 at Cedar Village in Mason, Ohio at the age of 85. Marjorie was born February 19, 1933 in Blytheville, Arkansas to the late Albert and Maggie McGee. In 1951 she married Elmer Conard Ashmore and moved to their farm on Gum Grove Road after he was discharged from the navy. Elmer preceded her in death in 2007. Marjorie worked for 24 years as the elementary school secretary in the Clinton Massie school district. First at Clarksville Elementary School until it closed and then as the first secretary of the newly consolidated Clinton Massie Elementary School. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend and is survived by Glenn (Polly) Ashmore, Laura Ashmore, Guy (Sandy) Ashmore; Nannie’s grandchildren Maggie (Will) Bowling), Nellie Ashmore (Joel Hogel), and Conard Ashmore; sister-in-law Evelyn Whitacre, numerous loving nieces and nephews, and special friends Betty and Lemic Perry. Besides her parents and beloved husband Marjorie was also preceded in death by her siblings: brothers AR, Jack, and George and sisters Billie, Dorothy, and Peggy. A memorial service will be held on Monday, June 25th at 11:00 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home with graveside service to follow at Cowan Creek Cemetery.
