Martha Saylor Obituary

Martha Pauleva Saylor, age 81, of New Vienna, passed away peacefully Thursday, May 12, 2022, at Ohio Living Cape May.  She was born October 7, 1940, in Belfast, Ohio the daughter of the late James H. and Dorothy May (Rodgers) Storer.  Martha was a social butterfly and very active in her community.  She was a proud 50-year member of the New Vienna Church of Christ; 50-year member of the D.A.R. waw-wil-a-way meeting; charter member of the Ohio Society of Colonial Dames XVII of Clinton County; member of Order of Eastern Star; Highland County Historical Society; Republican Club, Mother’s Club; Women’s Club; a Community Action Board Member; and a “Highland County First Family”.  In her younger years she attended and graduated from Centerville High School where she was a Majorett; and in 1957 she was a Rainbow Girl.  In her professional career she retired from Clinton Memorial Hospital where she oversaw the Medical Library; she also worked as a realtor, starting with Fred Haught Realty, then Century-21 which became Big Hill-GMAC Realtors.  She was a member of the National Association of Realtors, and the Ohio Association of Realtors; and had served on the Clinton County Board of Realtors.  Martha is survived by three children, Darrell and his wife Patty Saylor of Wilmington, Stephanie and her husband Gary Evans of New Vienna; and Stacie and her husband Jay Young of Hillsboro; daughter-in-law Cynthia Saylor of Lees Creek; grandchildren, Sarah (Bill) Miller of Franklin, Emily (Chris Cordray) Pinkerton of Sabina, Will (Amanda) Saylor of Sabina, Jenifer Saylor of Wilmington, Morgan (Andy) Gilliland of Leesburg, Clinton (Lindsay) Evans of Bellbrook, Tiffany (Gus Bonham) Moler of Washington C.H., Michael (Elayna) Moler of Xenia, Amelia Shaw of Hillsboro, and Bryce Young of Hillsboro; 21 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; several nieces and nephews; lifelong friends June Massie of Riverside, California and Betty Walden of Centerville; as well as many more friends.  She is preceded in death by her husband Elden Saylor in 2013; son Daniel Saylor; great granddaughter Clara Gibson; sisters, Sharol Frederick and Mary Emma Brunt; and brother James Storer.  Funeral services will be held TUESDAY, MAY 24, 2022, at the New Vienna Church of Christ.  Brad Clouse will officiate.  Burial will follow in the New Vienna I.O.O.F.
