Mary Jane (Wilson) Riehle, age 91, formerly of Blanchester, passed away peacefully Monday November 7, 2022 in Springboro, Ohio with her family by her side. She was born March 19, 1931 in Wilmington a daughter of the late Samuel B. and Goldie Marie (Smith) Wilson and was raised in Sabina where she graduated in 1949 with honors (Salutatorian) from Sabina High School. While at Sabina she was a cheerleader (she could still do the splits well into her 60's) and had a close group of friends. Though not affiliated with a particular church, Mary Jane was a follower of the Church of Christ and was very spiritual.
Among her interests and hobbies, she was an avid reader and enjoyed listening to music. She loved cooking for her family and was an incredible cook. She loved sports! Whether it was bowling, football, Duke basketball or her husband's softball team, she was cheering on the sidelines. She traveled all over the United States with her husband Robert and only missed two states. Mary Jane also loved gardening. As a young farm wife she had huge vegetable gardens which she maintained beautifully while canning and preserving the bounty.
Mary Jane did spend some time working off the farm for Clinton Memorial Hospital and a local doctor's office but loved her time being a farm wife the most. She and her husband Robert settled in the Blanchester area soon after marrying in October of 1950. She was a member of the Blanchester Senior Citizens, a girl scout leader, helped with 4-H projects, and was also involved with the PTO. She had also received numerous accolades through the Clinton County Extension Office. As a collector she accumulated over 100 miniature tea sets and teapots.
Mary Jane and her husband Robert raised four daughters that survive; Nancy (Donald) Muchmore of Clarksville, Gail (John) Allen of Wilmington, Janet (Jim) Parker of Clarksville and Bobbie (Deron) Wolfe of Lebanon. Also left to cherish the memory of their grandmother are her grandchildren, Rebekah (Kevin) Wall, Jamie (Mike) Weiner, Julie (Josh) Kirby, Morgan (Josh) Emmel, Phillip (Kelly Peterson) Parker, Kennady (Chris) Hutson, Olivia Givens and Robert Wolfe; great-grandchildren Arabella and Abigail Earley, Zymri Wall, Logan and Mikayla Weiner, Lakelynd Kirby, Killian and Magnus Hutson, Aleeriah and Lolah Givens, and Hazel Wolfe; sister, Ruth (John) Wright; brothers, Sam (Barbra) Wilson and George (Suzie) Wilson; sister-in-law, Roberta (Harley) Douglas; brother-in-law, Edward (Billie) Reihle; several nieces, nephews and friends.
