Michael Alan "Mike" Lengefeld

Michael Alan “Mike” Lengefeld, age 75, of Hillsboro, passed away Monday, September 29, 2025, at his home with his family by his side. He was born June 17, 1950, in Dayton, Ohio the son of the late Herbert and Mary (Barr) Lengefeld. Mike had retired from the Hillsboro Police Department after 35 years of service. He started his career in 1975 and ultimately retired in 2010 after serving as Chief of Police. In his spare time he enjoyed dirt track racing. He raced around the area but mostly at Moler Raceway in Brown County. The most precious times of his life were spending time with family, especially his grandchildren. Mike is survived by his wife Ramona Jo "Mona” (Hayslip) Lengefeld, to whom he married April 18, 1998 in Hillsboro; children, Wendell Jason (Jody) Teboe of Florida, Peggy (Ben) Brown of Laurelville, Ohio, Chris (Stephanie) Lengefeld of Hillsboro, Mason (Renee) Teboe of Clarksville, Melissia (Fritz) Lengefeld of Portugal, and Marlana (Ron) Dexter of Sardinia; grandchildren, Marha, Tristen, Miracle, Bella, Dalton, Kyle, Mia, Joshua, Donavon, Kaitlyn, Breanna, Jaden, Chase. Cruze and Alexandria; great grandchildren, Alexander, Elana, MacKenzie, Evermore, Gabriel, Vivian, Alden, Jon, Amara, Kinley, Kolton, Zander, Hailey, Zayden, Hazily, Kinsily, Carson, and Brohdi; brother Don (Patty) Lengefeld of Hillsboro; several nieces and nephews; and the many friends he made during his time on the Police force and at the race track. In addition to his parents, Mike is preceded in death by two sisters, Patricia Tittcomb and Constance Staub; and brother Herbert Lengefeld. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 7, 2025 at the Faith in Christ Church, 11576 Route 28 West, New Vienna, Ohio 45159. Pastor Désirée Gruber will officiate. Burial with military honors will follow in the Hillsboro Cemetery. Visitation will be held 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday, October 6, 2025 at the church.
