Miriam Johnson Obituary

Miriam Arlene Johnson, age 79, of Xenia, went to her Heavenly home on Saturday April 2, 2022 at Hospice of Dayton, surrounded by her loving family. Her husband Wendell Johnson, preceded her in death December 5, 2021. She was born November 12, 1942 to Ralph and Pauline McCall at home in New Burlington Ohio. She is survived by one brother Randy (Tara) McCall and is preceded by her parents; two brothers, Harold McCall and Paul (Judy) McCall; and one sister, Anita (John) Watson. Miriam will be dearly missed by her three daughters and sons- in-law, Stephanie (Rick) Moreton, Ellen (Dave) Anderson and Marlene (Rock) Morris, as well as, Mark and Katy Anderson to whom she considered a daughter and son-in-law as well. She also leaves behind five dearly loved grandchildren; Austin (Tiffany) Moreton, Ashley (Josh) Humphries, Brittany Morris, Brooke (Cody) Bolden and Jordan Morris. Also great-grandchildren; Lauren, Ethan and Camdon Humphries, Brantlee Morris, Danilyn Bolden, Alyssa Kruse, Emily Montini and Tristan Montini; sisters-in-law, Molly Spicer and Nancy Larson, both of Minnesota; and a special cousin Vicki (Dayon) Taylor who she considered more like a sister. She was also preceded in death by her great-grandson, Joshua Tyler Humphries. She was affectionately known as "Aunt Mimi" by all of her nieces and nephews. Miriam was a retired hairdresser and owned Valley Shears Hair Design in Spring Valley. She loved reading sewing, being a farm wife and cooking Sunday family dinners. She was the best pie baker! Services will be held Saturday April 9, 2022 at Spring Valley United Methodist Church, 1 Walnut Street, Spring Valley with Dar Hensley officiating. Friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon with service immediately following visitation. Burial will follow in New Burlington Cemetery.  Lunch and fellowship will be served at Ancil's place in Roxanna afterward. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Spring Valley Cares, PO Box 357, Spring Valley Ohio 45370 (Wendy started the Spring Valley Cares by asking for donations so that every child in Spring Valley receives a toy from Santa),  Spring Valley Twp Fire Dept., 2547 US 42, Spring Valley Ohio, 45370, or Hospice of Dayton 324 Wilmington Avenue, Dayton Ohio 45420.
