Nelva "Nev" Eickenhorst Brown, 96, of Southmayd Texas, formerly of Wilmington, died peacefully Tuesday, August 24th, 2021, surrounded by her loving family. Nev was born July 28, 1925, in Colerain, Ohio, the daughter of the late George and Elsie (Rodler) Kolbinsky. Nev was a homemaker, master gardener, bus driver for the Nike Center, and had also worked at Crysteco. As a Christian, she had a servant's heart and had volunteered tirelessly for many community projects, events, and initiatives. Nev very much enjoyed the Clinton County Fair, and her involvement with the youth in 4-H, where she was an advisor for 57 years in the Equine area. Nev was also a member of the Wilmington Church of Christ while in Ohio and was an active member in Cornerstone Cowboy Church in Collinsville Texas. Surviving are her loving children; son Lee (Angela) Eickenhorst of Southmayd Texas, two daughters, Mary Ann (Tom) Hammond of Frankfort Kentucky and Gail Eickenhorst of Somerset Kentucky; step-daughter, Judith Kagrise, of Cincinnati; seven grandchildren, Dustin (Morgan) Eickenhorst, Dana Eickenhorst, Danise (CR) Kirby, Heather (Clete) McAninch, Hollie Jo Hurt, Edward (Tina) Hammond and Larry Michael (Melissa) Hammond. Nev also leaves behind eight great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Nev was preceded by her first husband Edward C. Eickenhorst and later by her second husband, Harold A Brown. She was also preceded by a brother Ervin Kolbinsky, and two sisters Edith Ferris and Rosella Ferris. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, September 3. 2021, in the Expo Center at the Clinton County fairgrounds with burial following in Clinton Memory Gardens. Mike and Nancy McCormick will officiate. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the service at 1:00 p.m. at the fairgrounds. After burial all guests are invited back to the Expo Center at the fairgrounds for a light luncheon and fellowship.
