Peggy Lou (Earley) Bayless

Peggy Lou Bayless, age 81, of Wilmington, passed away peacefully Friday, September 17, 2021, at the Clinton Memorial Hospital.  She was born August 6, 1940, in Wilmington, the daughter of Roy and Roseanne (Grooms) Earley.  She loved flowers and tending to her flower gardens. She enjoyed cooking and baking; and was a talented poetry writer, having several pieces published.  Peggy loved her family and her pets.  She was loved, and will be missed by many.  She is survived by five children, Roseanna Shoemaker of Wilmington, Mary Louise (Ronald) Ringer of Wilmington, Shane (Laura) McCoy of West Union, Robin (Jim) Carpenter of Wilmington, and Tina (Jim) Storer of Wilmington; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, Peggy is preceded in death by her husband Ralph Bayless on November 21, 2018; step-children, Linda Bayless, Barbara Hamilton, and Patty Clark; and all 13 of her siblings.  Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at Brown Funeral Home, Wilmington.  Burial will follow in the Maple Grove Cemetery in Port William.  Visitation will held Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.  For more information, or to leave an on-line condolence, please visit www.arehart-brown.com or see our Facebook page, Brown Funeral Home.
