Richard Joseph Fahey, age 77, of Wilmington, passed away Saturday, May 25, 2024, at the Clinton Memorial Hospital in Wilmington. He was born August 13, 1946, in Walton, Kentucky, the son of the late Joseph and Mary (Rolfsen) Fahey. Richard was a proud Veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Vietnam War. He was a long-time member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Wilmington. He loved to travel, enjoyed fishing, playing cards, and researching genealogy. Anyone that knew him, knew that he was an avid follower of the Kentucky Wildcats. He also was a fan of both the Cincinnati Bengals, and the Cincinnati Reds. Most of all, Richard loved his family, and being with them. Richard is survived by his wife Carolyn M. (Overstreet) Fahey, to whom he married July 3, 1982, in Fairfield, Ohio; daughter Kerrie Fahey; step-children, Amanda Peavley, Micah Peavley, and Joseph Peavley; grandchildren, David Quillin, Caiden Quillin, Andrew Muslar, Andrea Siry, Harper Peavley, and Steele Peavley; great grandchildren, Gabe and Liam; sister Mary (Dan) Demaschko of Kentucky; his K-9 friends Gini and Bella; and many friends. In addition to his parents, Richard is preceded in death by granddaughter Alaina Quillin and siblings Tom, Benard, Patricia, James, Lawrence, Teresa, Pauline, and Gerry. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2343 Wayne Road, Wilmington, Ohio. Burial with Military Honors accorded by the Wilmington American Legion Post #49 will follow in the Sugar Grove Cemetery, Wilmington. Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 28, 2024, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home.
