Richard L. "Hawk" Williams

Richard L. “Hawk” Williams, age 75 of Wilmington. 

On October 11, 2023, Richard Williams passed away at his home.  He was preceded in death by his father Richard Everett Willaims, his mother Mary Margaret Captain, and his step-mother Evelyn Williams.  He was also preceded by brothers Gerald Watson and Robert Williams, sister Blanche Williams; niece Denise “Niece” Blair; and nephew Chacy Williams.  He is survived by daughters, Lisa (Steve Sweeney) Williams and Ashlee Williams, both of Wilmington; son Stephen (Tonya) Williams of Tennessee; brothers Gary Williams and Gregory Williams; sisters Brenda Johns, Kathy Williams, and Beverly Wilson.  He also had 15 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren with one more “on-the-way”.  He was truly loved by family and friends, and will be missed.  Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, October 26, 2023 at Brown Funeral Home, Wilmington.  Burial will follow in Sugar Grove Cemetery.  Visitation will be held Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.  To leave an on-line condolence or to make a donation, please visit www.arehart-brown.com, you can also leave condolences on our Facebook page, Brown Funeral Home.
