Robert Joseph "Bob" Applegate

Robert Joseph “Bob” Applegate, age 74, of Wilmington, passed away Saturday, September 25, 2021 at the Clinton Memorial Hospital. Bob was born May 22, 1947 in Hamilton County the son of the late David Joseph and Betty Ruth Stuber Applegate. Bob had a passion for Harley Davidson Motorcycles, he enjoyed working on them, customizing and chroming them. He also enjoyed working on, buying and selling cars. He was a wheeler-dealer in the used car business. Above all, Bob loved his family very much. He is survived by two children, Nikki Marie (Wayne) Murphy of Wilmington, and Monty (Vickie Fible) Applegate of Brookville, Indiana; four grandchildren, Krystal (William) Baxter of Carlisle, Priscilla (Dontae Sparrow) Abulencia of Wilmington, Amy (Eugene) Rickman of Springfield, Ohio, and Monty Applegate of Union, Kentucky; 14 great grandchildren and 2 on-the-way; sisters, Rhonda and Joyce; brothers, David E. (Cheryl), Colin, and Kevin (Sheana); stepmother Mary Helen Applegate; aunts, Mary Phirrem and Joan Eckel; 3 bonus children he helped raise, Tommy, Steve and Star; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Bob is preceded in death by his wife, Kay Applegate; brothers Kelly and Roy; and two great grandchildren. A Celebration of Bob’s Life will be held locally, Saturday, October 9, 2021 from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Murphy Farm, 911 Accommodation Road, Wilmington, Ohio, 45177; a Celebration will also be held Sunday, November 14, 2021 from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Cheviot Harvest Home Lodge, 3961 N.
