Robert E. "Bob" Burgel

Robert E. “Bob” Burgel, age 70, of Fairfield Township, passed away Sunday, May 8, 2022 at the Hospice of Cincinnati Blue Ash Inpatient Care Center.  He was born June 23, 1951 in Washington C.H., Ohio the son of the late Joseph and Rita Ann (Flint) Burgel.  He was a Veteran of the United States Army, and was a Purple Heart Recipient.  He served during the Vietnam War.  Bob was an electrician by trade, and retired from Miller-Coors in Trenton after several years of service.  He enjoyed boating, mostly out of Ripley on the Ohio River; His comfort place was sitting outside the camper, with an unsweet tea, meeting and talking with all of the camping neighbors, with his trusty dog “Emerson” by his side.  He, along with his wife Jean, loved to travel with their 5th wheel camper.  He was making it his mission to find and eat in all the Brisket restaurants in Texas.  Bob was a loved man who will be missed by many.  He is survived by his wife, Jean Ann Hammer, to whom he married January 29, 2008 in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic; daughter, Renee (Dan) Arm of Clarksville; step-son Bill Lewis of Moraine, Ohio; grandchildren, Raven Arm and Hunter Arm; sister Patty (Curt) King of Crittenden, Kentucky; brother Tim Burgel of Wilmington;  niece Jennifer (Jason) Jones; nephews, Brad (Jen) Burgel and Matt (Molly) Reed; several great nieces and nephews; Army Buddies, Gary (Brenda) Weaver and Ron (Jan) Dill; and many friends.  In addition to his parents, Bob is preceded in death by one nephew, Christopher Reed.  Graveside funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at Clinton Memory Gardens, Wilmington.  Visitation will be held Tuesday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, Wilmington.  Memorial donations, if desired, should be directed to Hospice of Cincinnati Blue Ash, 4310 Cooper Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45242.  To leave an on-line condolence, please visit www.arehart-brown.com, or see our Facebook page, Brown Funeral Home.
