Robert William “Bob” Germann, age 85 of Wilmington, passed away peacefully Saturday, December 26, 2020 at his home with his family by his side after a lengthy battle with heart disease.  He was born June 9, 1935 in Clarksville, Ohio, the son of the late Lawrence and Dorothy (George) Germann.  Bob had been a longtime farmer in the New Vienna community and had moved to the Wilmington area in 1997.  He was established in the real estate community having been affiliated with the Borton-McDermott Real Estate Company and more recently with Bennett Realty, as well as a vital member of the Clinton County Board of Realtors for many years.  In caring for the local community, Bob gave many hours of service to several boards including the New Vienna Lions Club, Clinton Memorial Hospital Board of Trustees, Clinton Memorial Hospital Foundation, Y.M.C.A., Clinton County Board of Realtors, St. Columbkille Catholic Church Parish Council and Finance Committee, Saint Vincent de Paul Society, East Clinton Board of Education, and Snow Hill Country Club.  Bob had also enjoyed being a basketball official in the Clinton County area for several years. His daughters and grandchildren will have fond memories of him being in the crowd cheering for them during sporting events.  Bob is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Betty Lou (Cochran) Germann to whom he married September 14, 1957; daughters, Beth Moone and her husband Frank, of Cincinnati and Suzanne Hemmer, of Cincinnati; seven grandchildren, Natalie (Kirk) Payne, Christopher (Jennifer) Sizer, Jennifer (Ryan) Testerman, Taylor Sizer, Morgan Hemmer, Caroline Hemmer, and Nick Moone; four great grandchildren; siblings, Jackie (Ronald) Kersey, and James (Judy) Germann; and many cherished nieces, nephews, and close friends.  In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by son-in-law Dr. Rick Hemmer.  Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated 1:00 p.m. Monday, January 4, 2021 at St. Columbkille Catholic Church in Wilmington.  Father Michael Holloran will be the Celebrant.  The family would love everyone to attend, but given the COVID restrictions, the capacity of the church will be limited to 90, and facial coverings will be mandatory for those attending.  Burial will take place privately at the convenience of the family.  Memorial contributions are directed to the local St. Vincent de Paul Society, 73 N.
